Physical Education Department
The Health & Physical Education Department at St. Peter Secondary School focuses on achieving wellness through life-long participation in physical activity and healthy decision-making.
Our goal is to help students develop an understanding of what they need in order to make a commitment to lifelong healthy, active living and develop the capacity to live satisfying, productive lives. We seek to accomplish this by developing their social, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Our programs include a variety of traditional and non-traditional physical activities to spark student interest and desire to participate, with an emphasis on effort and active participation, not sport-based skills.
“Movement is crucial to every other brain function, including memory, emotion, language, and learning.”
- John J. Ratey
